The proposed Parandur airport project has been officially dropped by the Tamil Nadu government. Chennai airport will now undergo expansion on its north-west side with a new terminal.
This expansion aims to handle twenty million additional passengers annually. The fareless travel scheme for women will also be expanded to all government buses.
New sites for airport development are currently under consideration and will be finalized soon.
