Bristi Mukherjee, niece of Mamata Banerjee, was found dead at her Birbhum home. The 28-year-old was discovered hanging in her room on Tuesday afternoon.
Police are treating the death as a suicide and have sent the body for post-mortem. Mukherjee was reportedly undergoing divorce proceedings and had suffered from depression.
